Anyone know if someone makes a steering hub extension? I'd be a lot more comfortable if my wheel came out another 2 inches. I feel like I lean over a lot, instead of sitting back in the chair.

How about a deeper-dished steering wheel?

Re: Steering Hub Extension

Thanks guys. So I totally restored the interior of the boat and replaced the helm seat with a pedestal, etc. I spaced it a comfortable distance from the console, so my feet/legs weren't all jammed into it. It feels perfect from that perspective but the wheel is just a hair to far away. I'll check out the deeper wheel and the tilt helm. I found some hub extensions for cars - if the bolt pattern is the same, that should work too - right?

Teleflex also makes a wedge kit to change the angle of the helm if that would at all help you (probably not). That extension you linked to doesn't look like it would bolt up to anything I've seen related to a standard helm.

Re: Steering Hub Extension

generally the extensions use the large center nut with the taperd shaft and keyway, then the steering wheel bolts on to the adapter with 3 bolts
