Re: Steering issues

Disconnect the steering at the motor. The motor should now turn back and forth very easily. If not there should be a couple zert fittings where the motor turns. If it does turn freely then replace the steering cable. You might get lucky if you pull the cable from the motor then clean and lube.

Re: Steering issues

I would try heating up the steering swivel assembly on the motor with a heat gun, or hair dryer first,,, this my take awhile to do, then try turning it, or jarring it loose.

Re: Steering issues

I tried heating the swivel shaft and it began to loosen up. Once it cools it gets stuck again. What about removing the zerk and adding some penetrating oil like PB Blaster?Or something "warmer" than propane?Thank You for your help.

You got it ;) This was the next thing I was gonna tell you, and let it sit for awhile,,,try getting it free without heat now,,, only use heat if you really have to, & no flame! because of the flammability of the penetrating oil. I think someone here mentioned WD-40 eats through corrosion pretty good, awhile ago.
