I have a 1997 bayliner trophy 1703 with a 1989 force 125 (Us Marine). I just replaced the teleflex cable and the outboard is still hard to turn. I have no kinks in the cable. It turns easier once past straight. But to return to straight is a chore.

Yes. It appears to be the motor that is taught. Super smooth with the tiller arm disconnected. I routinely grease everything once a month when I check the grease in my trailer Berrings. Since it's a new cable I put a solid coat of water disbursing lithium on the new cable. And keep the outboard and all the electronic components with a good coat of boeshiled.

Cable is free but motor is tight, your going to need to remove the motor if it does not have a grease fitting, which I don't think it does. The pivot pin needs greased and your probably need to take it apart to get at it. Suggest asking the question in the Chrysler/Force section to see if those guys have an easier way to do it
