I need to know the part number for the steering link arm for a 1976 75HP Evinrude(75643D), I was not able to locate it on any parts diagram.

If I am not calling it by its correct name it is the bar that connects between the steering cable and the motor.

Also, Will a properly sized steering cable for your boat work on different HP engines. I had a 1984 40HP Johnson and swapped it for the above engine. It seems as though it might not come out of the tube as far as needed to turn the bigger engine its full range.

Re: Steering Link Arm

My parts book shows a steering connector kit Part # 173700 the rod is called a connector rod. I've always called it the steering link myself. You might be able to find it one-bay.
