Now that I have this old Merc almost ready to mount, I am in need of a steering link (arm). My steering cable rod goes thru the engine pivot and attaches with a large nut. I looked on Ebay and there are so many different links, different angles, different offsets. Which do I choose? Most links on Ebay state "check with your local dealer". I know there is a lot of help here :)

Anyone here know the Serria part number for the water pump base? OEM # is 46-58618A. S/N is 429xxxx. I think it is the same as my old 1963 650. I don't need it just now, but I like to have parts on hand.

Thanks, Tom on Buckeye Lake

Tom, set the steering wheel 1/2 way thru the lock-to-lock travel. Now set the motor straight. Now measure from cable end to motor steering rod. A lot of times it is simply a straight link of the correct length with a 90* bend on each end.
