Steering needs replaced

ok what i have is a larson lapline all american boat steering was way loose so i tryed to tighten it and of coarse i broke off the part that goes thru the dash this is a cable steering,any suggestions on how to fix this can a person put a teleflex safe-T QC system on this boat with a single cable :confused:

Hi frwhlr38 , I had the cable and pulley steering on my 1961 MFG Oxford - and the switch went well for me . I had the Curtis-Wright wheelsman steering ; and my motor is an 1980 Johnson 50 . If you have a classic motor then you may need to fabricate a controll arm / link and my steering wheel was off 108* due to the keyway being off ....an easy fix too peter

My motor is a 77 merc 50 hp, my steering broke on the part that holds in in the dash so am hopeing to switch it over as i just got this boat and love it:)
