Steering on the wrong side?

I have a 1973 hydrostream vector and am replacing its old dual ride guide steering system with a new one. I've been looking at uflex and teleflex systems, and all of them, rotery and rack, have the inputs for the cable in the steering helm on one side, which means the cables have to be one one side of the boat, right. Can you switch the cables to opposite sides? My hydrostream is set up for one cable on each side of the engine, and has a hole drilled into each side of the hull above the fin with a perco vent covering it for the cable. Any suggestions?

to mount on the left side you turn them upside down, they still work.

Ayuh,......

Your old Hydrostream has a Good Dual Cable steering,.......
The push- pull Dual cable systems are Much Safer for holding the motor when you get that little Rocket really strung out there......

Going to a single Cable is a step Backwards.................
