I just bought a 07 skeeter with a 150h 2 stoke vmax.
The boat uses dual cable steering. I am having troulble steering at mediam to high rpm. I have adjusted the tilt of the motor and nothing will help. Any suggestions on what I can do next or what it could possible be?

Re: Steering Problems

When i am in high to medium RPMs. It is almost imposible to turn to the right and alittle easier to turn to the left. Are dual cable outboards just that hard to steer or is something wrong with the system?

Re: Steering Problems

Have you adjusted the torque tab below the AV plate? In your case, move it some to port.

Have you disconnected the motor from the steering at the motor to determine if the motor is the problem or the steering system?

When was the motor pivot tube last greased?

Re: Steering Problems

I have adjusted the torque tab below the AV plate. That helped out alittle bit. I have also hit all the greese points possiple. I will work on checking if it is the cables or the motor, but to my dismay I think it is the cables because it drives smooth going slow. Thanks for the help wilde1j.
