steering pull 85 mercruiser alpha

my boat is a 22 ft starcraft euro. the steering system is a manual rack. i get a lot of feedback throught the steering (prop torque ect.) if i change over to a rotary system does anyone think this would eliminate the feeedback problem?<br />thanks<br />grizz

Nope............<br />Unless you go with the new No Feed Back systems......<br />Even then, It Doesn't matter if it's Rack + Pinion, or Rotary.......<br /><br />Adjusting the Torque-Tab Should help.......

I put a teleflex no-feedback steering system on my '76 boat. With the old system, you had to hang on to the wheel when at high rpms. But with the new steering I can go wide open with no hands, so I can definitely say it does work.
