I have a boat that I would like to install the Teleflex SS-137 steering system on. I have a 1972 Evinrude 40 HP that it will attach to. My question is: What (if any) mechanism do I need to use to attach said steering to the motor? ...or is that hardware already included? I bet not so that is why I'm asking for your recommendations.

Thank you
Bill

It will all depend on your mid section.
If you have a mid section (bracket) where the engine attach to the transom with clamp screws, that system will need an additional well bracket and end connector to attach to the engine.
If you have a tilt tube, it will fit straight on and all you would need is a steering link from cable end to engine.
However I'm afraid you have the clamp screw attachment.

Thank you for the information. Do you happen to have any information or recommendations on the best brand/manufacturer? Where would I get one? I'd google it but I don't know what it is called. The motor is the screw clamp type of mount.
