I have a 2001 115hp Yamaha. Steering wheel is very easy to turn. But have to be turned a few full turn before the motor turn just a little bit. What is my problem? please help!

Sounds like helm is worn. I wouldn't drive the boat until you fix that.

Something broke...

Sounds like the screw or shear pin or whatever is used to hold a gear on the steering shaft is broken and you're just getting the results of friction between the shaft and gear. Eventually that would wear to allow the wheel to spin freely and not have any control over steering.

That boat is beached until repaired.
