steering stuck

If I remove the steering cable on the side of the motor that it connects to the steering will turn. But I can"t get the piston that turn the engin to move in and out. What can I do?:cool:

On most outboards, there is a large nut on the strboard side of the motor that needs to be undone as well as the end of the cable, and use a heat gun along the tube as you drive the end of the steering cable out thru the tube.
Afterwards, there are some good links to collasible sleeves as well as zerk fittings that attach to the tube to properly lube it and protect the grease from drying up. Don't use the steering wheel to help or it will snap at the wheel. Been there, done that. :redface:
