Steering swap ended up too short!

I should have realized that 14' - 15' + -1', but didn't think about it.

I swapped the steering from my 14' Hydroswift to my 15' Starcraft, mocked them up, and they seemed like they were going to fit just fine.

Turned out I was wrong, now the steering in the starcraft (my main pride and joy) is 6" (at a minimum) too short.

There isn't a way to replace the cable, sheath, etc with a longer one, is there?

If not (and I'm guessing not) where is a good place to find steering at a reasonable cost that is long enough for my boat (15' Starcraft) with a 1968 Merc 950?

Thanks so much!

Justin, it depends on the type system you have. knowing what you have would really help.

How can I explain....
it's single cable in a sheath, the end of the little cable slides through the mount on the motor and connects to a rod that turns it...

I'll get a picture up here pretty quick.
