Re: PLEASE help

if it,s the cable get a new one not quite clear on what your saying if the engine itself won,t move without the cable torching the swing arm is the only way beside replacement and if it,s that bad replacement might be the only choice. see if you can find one on ebay

Re: PLEASE help

what motor size what engine type etc. There are different arms for different engines. Example 1997 40 HP 4 cyl 4 stroke SN 5664677

Re: PLEASE help

You have a question that straddles two potential areas: boat and Mercury engine.

With the steering DISCONNECTED from the engine, will the engine turn side to side? If not, the swivel is frozen on the engine.

If so, there is a problem with your cable, steering head.

Re: PLEASE help

In the original post i said it has the steering cable disconnected

In my last post i said " But i have since figured it out on my own Thanks"

The swivel was frozen I even said i bought a brand new steering cable everything but the steering wheel.

FYI- With my issue the answer was easy grease and some propane torch heat was plenty to free it up.

Reading posts/threads would be a great idea before posting
