Steering wheel adaptor old wheel new helm

My husand is restoring a '67 Bertram 20....currently the steering has a rack. I found an origianl Bertram steering that we want to replace the current wheel. Does anyone know where I can buy an adaptor that will adapt the old style steering wheel to the new helm?

Ayuh,... The current standard connection is 3/4" taper,...

I know of No adapters to mount another type of wheel to it...

What's the new old wheel look like,..??

we just received the wheel today, this is the picture of the boat it was on.

You need a machinist to create a hub with the 3/4" taper on 1 side, and the correct attachment to the original wheel on the other. It won't look totally original, but it would look good machined out of Stainless or billet.

Could you post pics of the back of the Old Wheel and the base plate of the New steering adapter?

It's been a while since I've bought anything from them, but when I was rebuilding my Checkmate I had good luck getting steering components from Eddie Marine (eddiemarine.com). They walked me through which adapter I needed for my helm etc., I'm thinking that if any pre-made adapter exists for your purpose they might be the ones to help you find it.
