Re: steering wheel removal

Should have a 3/4 inch Tapered shaft. Wheel May or May not have a Key Lock or snap ring , or pin holding it in place. Inspect to see if any of these apply. Loosen the center Nut until its outedge is even with the end of the threaded shaft. Wedge your knees behind and under the wheel to apply pressure and use a rubber hammer or regular hammer and block of wood to forcefully hit the shaft. You have to break the tapered shaft "Wedge" effect to get the wheel free. It takes some pounding and some pulling but you can and will get it free. Heating the shaft might help too.

Good Luck.

Ayuh,... Use a Steel Hammer,+ it'll Pop, 1st Swat....

With the nut, dead flush with the shaft, Nothing is harmed...

What they said above but....you need to remove the cap first. Depending on what wheel you have, there is center cap that has to be removed first.
some just snap into place, some have a snap ring that has to be removed first.

If your not feeling brave enough to use the hammer method you can borrow a gear puller from advance auto or auto zone for free. A three jaw puller works great, just leave the nut partialy threaded to keep the center "bolt" of the puller from wondering.
