steering

hi i am having problems with steering i don't know if the cable is bad or the helm is. my boat is a shallow sport 21 ft the boat is made in south tx is a quahedral hull with a tunnel i hit a pretty good wave at about 45% steering broke i could spin the helm but no responce. had to limp to dock at 5mph while steering 120 evinrude by hand and i mean that physicaly. i dont know if broke the helm or cable. anybody have suggestions? thanks

disconnect cable an motor, try the helm. pull on the cable. is it rack or rotary helm

Replace the Whole Thing........

The Complete Helm/ Cable assembley is only a couple of bucks more than either piece, Separately........
