Re: steering

O.K. Take your anode tab and put it in the 'neutral' position. Meaning straight. Run your boat and make gradual changes to it. You'll be wanting to make some big moves to get it over with but don't do it. All it takes is a couple of minutes to make the adjustment. Give yourself an hour and you should have it zeroed in. A small 1/8" adjustment could mean a lot of torque change. If you have the proper tab that is.

Re: steering

if you have a V hull boat. the left/right is called hull wander, it is the changing pressure of the water against the front of the boat. boat builders have been trying to figure out how to over come that for hundreds of years.

Re: steering

it has a small v hull , but not very much of one, its a bass style boat, and the exhaust tab only adjustes about a 1/8 of inch. i notice under the console the steering arm is a little loose and the gear bar( name not sure) is not level im going to mess with that and see what happens , thanks for the imput , will let you know if any thing works

Re: steering

The trim tab will fix minor cases of it but lots of luck it is more than minor.

It's called torque steer and is caused by the torque of the engine. That's what they make No-Feedback-Steering and Hydraulic Steering for. It locks the steering at wherever it is when you stop turning the wheel. Then releases again when you turn the wheel and locks again. All automatic. The two-fisted effort is still required when turning against the load, but thanks to the locking feature you don't have to fight it all the time, just when turning.
