I've been looking at a Steigercraft Chesapeake 21 - took off a couple of deck inspection plates at the local dealer. There is floatation foam under the deck, but most people feel this should not be contacting the fuel tank (if it's aluminum) since any saltwater that gets in contact with the tank will corrode it quickly. The foam I saw wasn't quite contacting the tanks but was separated by about a 1/2" of some stuff that looked and felt like cheap cardboard. This sure looks Mickey Mouse and something not likely to last too long, yet these boats have a good reputation from all the research I've done.

Comments?
