Step and trim trim tab location

Finally got the motor back and mounted so it is time to mount the trim tabs, couple questions about proper placement. Looking that the back of the boat what is the best location? The pitot tube on the back kinda complicates it.

Trim tabs should go out as far as possible.
I'd say about even with the tail lights.

What make and model are they?

And follow the curve of the bottom or square? They are Step and Trim, cast aluminum the angle is adjustable but they are fixed.

It is more important that they function as trim tabs vs as a step. The boat is a lightweight aluminum model and prop torque is the issue.

Unless they approximately follow the hull (straight tab along a slightly curved hull) they wont function as trim tabs.

So NOT square
