Stereo Question

The stereo on my pontoon is a JVC. It abruptly stop playing. When you turn it on it lights up and if you put a CD in it the counter works and all. It other words everything looks normal but no sound comes out. The boat has 4 speakers and no sound from any.
Anyone have any ideas?

What model is it? Does FM make sound?

I had one that one speaker shorted out and shutdown everything. It may be worth disconnecting one speaker at a time and see if you can get sound.

^^^^ This is a possibility as well. The amp section can shut down to prevent the overload from blowing out the amp. Some have internal fuses, but usually one fuse per channel and the other finals will continue to work. A model number helps to determine how to find the fault.

Could be anything from a broken common speaker ground to a blown amp Chip. JMHO
