Stern Bracket Upgrade?

I have a '72 Johnson 50 hp that I am having to rebuild. While I have it all apart, seems like I read of someone a while back with the same motor who mentioned installing an aftermarket stern bracket to accept cable steering. Does anyone know of making such a modification to this motor, what part to look for and where?

Don't know of any after market stern brackets burnt but there are after market steering tubes that bolt/clip to the transom brackets. Makes steering similar to tilt tube steering.
