Stern Drive alignment tool

I'm the guy who lost the threaded plate by removing the forbidden plug that I was not supposed to remove down inside of my upper unit on my 1989 OMC Cobra outdrive. I have got all of the parts coming to replace it and am ready to pull the drive but I'm not sure about the alignment tool that I found on Ebay. I was assuming that the tool I need would have splines on it just like the ones on my yoke shaft am I right? Can anyone tell me if the tool on ebay will work? I don't see any splines on either end of the tool. It's item # 270323177713 and the seller is whoya2350.

the one i have for my murcuriser dosnt have splines
and in fact you use the spline tracks made on the smooth shoulder of the tool by grease applied to the coulper splines to judge when your drive is lined up.
from every thing i have read here you will use the same tool on both brands.
you should be fine
