When I shift into reverse and rev it a little, as when I am docking my stern drive raises up on its own. What would cause this to happen"? Is there a check valve somewhere that is failing?

Isn't that just a switch to kill the power going to the pump? It doesn't close a valve right, just the power to the trim pump?

kwool, part is the reverse lockout valving and the other is the shift interlock switch.
Could be low on oil or has a lot of air in the system.

On my boat the shift interrupt switch is screwed onto the reverse lock out valve (the thing with the hydraulic lines going to it) if that helps.
