I was starting to gather various bits I will need for next spring's commissioning. I noticed that the price of a spray can of Trilux antifouling paint is quite high compared to the price of Trilux in a can. I was wondering if anyone here has tried spraying the can version with those disposable sprayers called a "Prevale sprayer." I'm thinking that I could brush-on most of the job, but for certain hard to reach spots a sprayer would be convenient.

Thanks,

Peter

Been a few years since I used them but i found those spayers basically useless. If you have a compressor get a harbor freight spray gun. Either way you need to thin the paint down

The preval sprayer has its place. I used to buy them by the case.

However I agree with Scott, a harbor freight purple gun is worth it. It costs 5 preval sprayers and will outlast them

You will get much better anti fouling protection if you brush (2 coats) on the trilux. Spraying is easy and looks nice, but the coverage is thin.
