Okay----I know the theory behind set-backs and jack plates on outboards---moves the prop up/down and forward/back relative to the bottom of the boat for optimum performance. I've also read the theory and testimonials on the Land & Sea website regarding their Stern Jack product for I/Os.

Questions: Is Land & Sea the only outfit making these for I/O applications?

What is the expected running lifetime of one of these things on an Alpha drive----500 hours, 1000 hours?

Has anyone out there tried to repair one of these things on a stern drive if and when it does break?

Thanks! It's raining here in central IL---got to be getting close----River Trip!

Re: stern-jack questions

IMCO makes a really trick stand off box and short drive for the Bravo but I'm not sure what they offer for the Alphas.

Good luck!

Thanks, DHadley

I checked the IMCO web site and could not find much.

The stern jack has been around for a few years and I thought I would get more feedback----I guess they don't break too often.

Re: stern-jack questions

We tried the Stern Jack on the race boat once. Ended up sending it back.

Pick up an issue of Hot Boat magazine. IMCO has ads in there all the time. Or give them a call, they'll send you literature.

Good luck!
