Sterndrive leaking oil

My 1984 Mercruiser 3.8L V6 sterndrive is leaking oil from the back. I just noticed this today and it leaked a very small puddle over a 12 hour period. Its leaking from the little brown piece in the picture. What is this and how can it be fixed? Also, will it be ok to run for a few days, it seems like a small leak and I just added some more.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard Mike,...

That's the shifter foot,... It leads into the shift spool... It's possibly leaking from there...

Of course, if it's leaking oil Out,.. It can leak Water In....
Running it like that Might make it a couple of days,...
Or it could mean the difference between a $.50 Seal,+ Replacing the Whole Outdrive...
