Stick steering

I am looking to buy a fishing boat and want stick steering. Most small fishing boats here have stick steering. I have already decided that I would not like the push forward-turn left or is it turn right. Can they be mounted so that push left and turn left.
Most all thing that I have driven operate that way. Airplanes, bicycles, etc. I am too old and set to retrain.
Thanks,
Uncle Dave

Re: Stick steering

The conventional stick setup on boats is not that hard to learn. I'm old (and a pilot), and I had no problem transitioning to a stick steer boat. The stick being on the left side, forward is right, back is left.

You might be able to set up a boat with a right/left stick, but then when you get ready to sell it no one else would want it.
