I have a 1986 SeaRay 268 with a Merc 260hp. The shifter is a Teleflex top mount with combined shift/throttle, a button on the side to disengage the shift and use only as thottle.
My problem is with that button, last summer it began to stick and was very difficult to depress. The marina mechanic told me I either had to put up with it or replace it, didn't think it could be fixed. So I'm asking if anyone here has had a similar problem and were they able to fix it? I hate to spend the money to replace if I don't have to.
