Sticky Title might discourage people opening it.

I think there is a lot of good information in the ADULTS ONLY sticky, but I think the title prevents a lot of people from initially looking there.

I know on other forums, a title like that means that the link will contain things "not appropriate" for viewing at work, with kids around, etc...

I know that I did not open that link for many months thinking it was something other than "a collection of very good information", which is what it really is.

After reading a few posts, you eventually see people referring others to that Sticky. People eventually get directed there, they just need to be pointed to it. With another title, they might open it sooner.

I don't know about you but whenever I see "adults only" I jump up and make sure my office door is locked

I think Don named it that not only to get your attention but to avoid posting "free service manuals" that would come up in any Google search and may cause problems....Just my guess....

When I posted it originally, I called it How To's and Other Great Info after a week or so, it only had about 40 or 50 posts. Just like any sticky, no one reads them. Obviously the title didn't catch many. Then I tried Adults only. Never said a word, just changed the title and the views went up to over a hundred a day. That was in January when little was going on.
It's real easy to tell people look for a manual in the Adults only sticky. OR, for the people that know, find a link to things for those that are afraid to venture in.
IMO, More look than don't look because of the name.

PS: It's not going to change either.

Thats a good point....Some perv expecting to see some nudies gets a Mercruiser link instead....lol! Then they will look elsewhere...
