I just had a new 50hp Merc installed on a 20' 'toon boat and the steering seems to be very stiff. Not just under load but just sitting with engine off. It takes an effort to turn wheel with one hand. Any suggestions or is this normal? By the way, the new motor weighs about 65 lbs. more than the old one but I don't think that would cause the kind of stiffness I'm experiencing.
