Stiff Throttle Grip on 88 15 hp Evinrude

The twist grip on my 88 Evinrude is a little sticky and stiff to twist. (Before you ask:I do have the clamp backed way off.) What is the reccomended lubricant, and do you have to dissasemble it to lube it up?

I'd dissasemble the grip. Clean and lube the helix and rollers with lubriplate or eqiv. ,spray throttle cable assembly internaly with lubricant (not WD40).

Looks like a lot of parts in the twist grip. Does just the grip assy come off so I can grease the helix inside? IF so, how?
