Stiff Throttle

I have a 2002 Chapperal with a Volvo motor that I bought used. It runs great but the throttle is really stiff. It is hard to move forward and back. It really sticks when attempting to move from forward to reverse. I have looked for lube points but have not found any. I can barely see the thing up under the side so I have no idea who made it. I can see the cables and the nuts for adjusting the length but I don't see any way to adjust the tension on the part that rotates the throttle and gear lever. I was thinking of trying to lube it a little with Marine grease but wanted to ask first. Is there any way to loosen this thing up? It really requires a little manhandling to move it around. OK on the water but pretty hard when you are around the dock and need a little finesse.
Thanks

Re: Stiff Throttle

Ayuh,...

It's either the Controller, or the Cable itself,...

If you can take the Controller apart,+ lube it, it might work.....
If it's the Cable,... Just Replace it,... It's a Non-serviceable part....
Seperating the 2 will tell you which it Is.....
