1985 115. Ok, have done the link and sync and have found a few issues I think. When I advance the throttle the timing starts to advance just a bit before the carb butterflies start to move, I think thats ok. Problem is when the timing is advanced 100% the carb butterflies are only open maybe halfway. Then as I move throttle lever forward some more the butterflies open all the way but like I said, the timing was already all the way to the timing stop. The issue I have, is that correct(?) and when the throttle lever is moved and the timing is being advanced the movement is smooth., When the timing is at 100% and I try to continue to move the throttle to further open the butterflies it is very stiff. Have disconnected cables and they are good. It is something on the engine I believe. The linkage is different then the 1996 I had so any help would be great.

Re: Stiff throttle

sounds ok, the timing will reach max advance before full throttle and should start advancing just before throttle begins to open. I am not sure about the stiffness problem. you should check your timing just to be safe..a manual will give you specific link and sync/timing info.
