For thoes of you who have followed my thread you know how many new parts i have into this engine. I had the boat repowered this past spring and have been trying to work the bugs out ever since. It ran perfect 4th of july weekend until it had to go back to the shop for a power steering issue. It hasen't run good since then. After that i had plugs, wires, cap rotor, all injectors, fuel pressure regulator, exhaust manifolds along with a starter and a few other parts. I had it out two weeks ago and it seemed to run pretty well. This past weekend it started fine, but i had a hard time getting it to plane. It just felt like it didn't have anything to get it out of the water. To get it up i have to push the throttle very slowly, and as i'm going forward i hit a spot where it seems to sputter a bit. As i'm trying to get up on plane i can only get 3000 rpms out of the motor before it gets on plane, then it will take off like a bat out of heck. I really truly ran it wot and got 4900 rpm trimed up, and there was no more, it didn't matter if i had the throttle at 3/4 or all of the way open. I know the plate in the trottle body is moving and opening fully, as i have checked that out. So my question is it runs very well, no spitting or backfiring at wot, but there is a dead spot while i'm trying to get up on plane, what are my options to improve my lower rpms. Should i try replacing my plugs, could i have one or more thats fouled out. I maybe have 3 hours on them. I just don't know what to do with this thing.
