I followed the advise of Rodbolt (thanks Roadbolt) and adjusted the tps on the controller for the actuator and adjusted the cables. This was to correct an alarm ringing on the starboard engine when I shifted into forward from either station. Now instead of the alarm ringing when I shift to forward, it rings momentarily when I shift out of forward and back to neutral and is happening intermittently. Could the sensor on the shift box or actuator be bad, and how can I check it?

keep adjusting the system as per the installation manual, something is still slightly off. that set up is touchy and makes me cringe. :)

Here's a follow up to the alarm problem. After adjusting the cables and checking voltage I replaced the sensor in the shift box. Turns out it wasn't the actuator but the armature behind it. It was gummed up and not able to move freely which simulated a cable problem and set off the alarm. Thanks Rodbolt for putting me in the right direction.
