New gaskets and lube did not solve the water leaking arounds the shift shaft hole. Its that little hole thats next to the shift shaft at the bottom end of the merc of mine. I have a strong telltale, so i'm sure she isn't overheating. Maybe I should just stop worrying about a little leakage, and get her on the river tomorrow. I think i've done everything possible to ensure I don't blow up a perfectly nice merc because of my stupidity.
I'm used to doing waterpumps, front ends, engine work, anything on an automobile, but because I've never had much experience with boats, this is totally greek to me!! I'm learning though..
Now, after 2 months of rain, I'm prayin for sunshine tomorrow!!
