I'm getting fuel to Carb, but none getting to engine. if i pull plug out spray some ether in it, put plug back and crank it it will try to start on that. any suggestions. also is 1972 sea king 5hp air cooled?

Does it need to be in water when starting, thats where i've had it.

Thanks

Yes, T2000. If it has a water cooled exhaust train in the leg. If not, no. I don't remember if the '72 had the water cooled leg or not.

You are now using the correct mix for your Clinton-built, air cooled engine, but your carb is plugged up. Try squirting some fuel mix (NOT ether) into the carb. If it tries to fire up on that, overhaul the carb with special attention to all tiny orifices and passages.

Good luck. :)

T2000 take the screw out of the bottom of the bowl, and stick the nozzle of your cleaner in the hole that the screw came out of,and SPRAY! and while you have the screw out make sure that nothing is crusty on the end

Regulare carb garb eats diaphrams for lunch
use a rubber safe brake clean spray,or Briggs diaphram safe carb garb.

well me and my uncle messed with it today, and we both have decided that the diaphram is bad on fuel pump, it is real hard and brittle, i recon its the exhaust that is pushing air into pump to push fuel into intake, any way its so hard that hardly any air comes through, also it wanted to start serval times, and its funny cause we had a bucket under the motor and tried starting it out of water, and we took diaphram out to see the flow and the mixture ran out the exhaust, the backed fired and caught the bucket on fire, it was funny, but anyway i hope it isn't to hard to find a diaphram.
