Hi guys - so im still baffled as to getting confirmation on my motors year and model -

No autoblend
3 Cyl
Dual carbs
Plastic split case (clamshell) cowling with front clips and cover.
Electric start
No Trim/Tilt fitted
The upper carb has a different jet size - iirc 72 and 74 or something like that

Its a merc powerhead, I think short shaft (its on a 16ft rib/inflatable) so pretty sure its not long?

Anode bolt in recessed inside rear housing / not exposed (i read this iis a sign it could be an 88 model)

Any help wd be appreciated - thanks

I would think it is a long shaft.----I mean how high is the transom on that boat ?---Is it 20 " ?-----Look like 87 decals.

I tried that sn on another engine-related site (can't list because it's a competitor) and it didn't recognize it. Can you do a leakdown test ? I have a few small older Mercs but not familiar with yours.
