Ok I just had the boat out and it's still not right. See my last post. I just put the new plugs in and gaped to 35 to see if it helped but if did not. I cleaned the coil input sides that where rusted and it still loads up wile trolling. I have no fuel leaks and the plugs are new. I just really don't know what to do now.

My most common problem I sea is fuel new outboards have like a tire valve the gauge is the clue .runs fine in the driveway revs up ok but does not go fast.someone can check the pressure when you get on it.fuel pump and high preasure pump fails often when you don't run motor often.smaller gap will keep from fowling but will not get max speed .boat launching and pick up depends on water to the top of fenders practice makes better .teach your wife don't move the wheel a lot and can always pull forward to straighten out .good luck Happy boating captains. Don't. Yell

Post # 6 is a bit puzzling.--Where is this tire valve and what does it do exactly and are you 100 % sure about what it does ???

Maybe Big Jimmy replied to the wrong post. I can't make any sense of it.

If it was the primer bulb why would it bog down after trolling or after restart then clear out and be fine ?

Have you checked your spark with a tester? And not just that you have strong spark that jumps the proper gap(7/16" I think), but is it consistent? I had a power pack going bad once and before it completely quit firing one cylinder it would fire intermittently.

I did check the spark with the tester and I don't know how far it jumped I can say I set the gap pretty big and seemed to have no problem.

Just guessing and throwing $$$ parts at it will not help.-------What happens when you operate the manual pump ?------Does running of the motor improve / change ?------Is a thrmostat installed and working properly ?------Compression test results are ??

The comp test was 130 on each. And when it has a hard time restarting it dose seem the choke does help.

Ok it runs great 100% at an idol and runs great after it has it's fit after trolling or a restart. The bulb would get hard but it seemed like it could go more so last night I put all new lines in and bulb. And like I said every once in a wile I will push the key to choke it and it starts right back up but 90% of the time she starts right back up. I have tried priming the bulb but I don't think it helped. The plugs are new and are the champions and the coils passed the spark test. The plugs are gaped at .35. When it starts it's fit I have tried pumping the throttle but it just bogs down and dies then sum times just by puting it in neutral the engine will stay running but I have to rev it up befor I put it in gear.

Revving it up to slap it into gear is not great for the lower unit.

Does your motor call for .030 gapped plugs? Or .035?

Are you sure the carbs were thoroughly cleaned? If choke helps at all...then fuel delivery is the most likely culprit. Has the motor been link-n-synced?
