1973 Evinrude 40 HP
What I have done so far, replaced both ignition coils, wires, spark plugs and condensers. I had to replace the crankshaft key because it was sheared off.
Did a cylinder compression test and get on both 125 psi +-1. The Motor starts fine now, when I unplug the wire from the 1st cylinder it still keeps going like nothing happend but if I unplug the 2nd cylinder then the motor stops. After running for a bit in idle I checked the spark plugs the 2nd one looks nice a little brown like it should be but the 1st one is black and powdery (see picture).
Any ideas are appreciated.
