stock prop on a 98 rinker 192 captiva mercruiser 5.0

does anyone know what prop comes from the factory on my boat or where i can find the info? we bought the boat used, and it has a 17 pitch stainless 3 blade, i think its about a 14.5-15 inch. wicked out of the hole just no top end. I am looking for a stainless 3 blade close to what the boat came with stock. i currently only get 44 mph out of it and i have to cut back on the throttle just a tad because it over-revs and cuts out. I would like to get around 53-58 mph out of it.

What is your WOT? Your prop sounds a little small for your boat. You probably need a 14.5 x 19.

right now i can hit 4900, still have a little thottle left and it governs out when i hit WOT, i know its "underproped" the previous owner used the boat mainly for waterskiing and needed a quick holeshot. well its deffinetly got that but i dont have my desired top end.

this evening my father and i found out what size prop i do have, its a quicksliver 14.5" 17 pitch stainless steel, we tried his aluminum 13.75" 21 pitch, and it was pretty slow to get on plane, decent cruising speed but when i floored it and trimmed up some, it cavitated.. so i slowed down a little got my "grip" back and tried it again, i couldnt get it trimmed out near as much as i could with my 17 on there, and all i could get was 44mph out of it.

I already suggested a size for you... you're going to have to experiment to find the right prop. My money is still on a 14.5 x 19.
