I recently purchased a Mercury 110. The serial number is 5000138. I have been all over the web looking for a replacement stop button for it. The insulation off of the wires has deteriorated to the point they were touching. The wires are in tact so I could just heat shrink the insulation back on them but I would prefer to replace it if possible. The man I bought it from said he thought is was a early eighties model but I have not been able to confirm. Any ideas if this part is available any where? How can I confirm my model year? This is the first step in restoring the motor. It is clean and does not look bad for it's age.
