STOP THIS THING !

my problem is the engine runs great but won't turn off. cut switch off,pulled emergency lanyard, still runs. got to be in powerpack. is there a way to bypass the powerpack circuit that controls shutting off the engine, so it will shutoff, and save me from having to buy new powerpack johnson j200stlese v6 1990

The cd ignition system requires that the key switch "short" the ignition system to ground, to shut the engine off. Sometimes a loose wiring harness connection, or a loose ground connection at the powerhead, or a open ground wire in the wiring harness can cause a situation that you have described. Try to check these areas first before replacing the power packs.
