Stopping a boat from going too far into a lift/hoist

Last Fall we got a "new" (to us) boat. It's the first boat we've had that has a depth gauge and a speedometer on it. As far as I have been able to learn, they work by way of a transducer (depth) and a pitot (speedometer) that are mounted on the stern of the boat. Early this Summer, I lowered the boat into the water from our Shore Station lift on a particularly rough day. The boat jostled around a bit in the lift, and I sheered off the pitot and the transducer. :-(

Is there some sort of "bumper" or bar we can get for the lift that will catch the outdrive and stop the boat from moving too far into the lift so this doesn't happen again? I'm trying to search on such a thing, but I don't really know what to call it!

Is it possible to move the bunks out a little so they don't line up with your transducer and pilot?

GA_Boater: That's perfect. THANKS!

Now: where can I get a replacement transducer for the depth finder. The brand is "Impulse" (I think) and service records show it was installed in 1990. Do I have to find an old one, or can/should I buy a new one?

Ayuh,.... I think I'd go with the Bow stop 1st, obviously you've got enough junk at the back of the boat already,.....

'n if ya stop the bow, the stern will still be exactly where it oughta be, without extra junk in the water to hit, 'n break things,....
