Storage, but not really a winterizing question

I have a 9.9 four stroke outboard on my trailered jon boat. I have the motor's lower unit wrapped in towels and then wrapped in plastic trash bag. I have a towel tied over the powerhead, then a plastic bag wrapped around that, with a little opening of the plastic at the base of the powerhead. The entire boat and motor are then covered with a blue plastic tarp.

I'm in Virginia, with winter bringing high temps anywhere from 40 to 60 degrees (very occasionally highs will be mid 30s), and lows hitting the occasional under 20 with normal lows around mid-30s, but many times in the 20s.

Aside from normal winterizing procedures, my question is, is this an ok way to "store" the motor or is this bad, inviting condensation?

with the motor stored in the running (down) position, it should be fine, as the cooling system is self draining. change your lower unit oil prior to the first freeze, just to insure no water intrusion to freeze and crack the lower unit. then just cover the boat. no need to really wrap motor.

Thanks for the reply. Since it's already wrapped up, I'll leave it this time. I just wanted to make sure that having it that way wasn't inviting anything bad. If not, it's "six of one, half dozen of another" to unwrap or leave as is. One requires additional task, one requires nothing. :D

Simply keeping out of the freezing wind I guess. My logic being the same as wrapping pipes to completely block any moving "freezing air." (And because I'm one of "those" picky people that do some things that sometimes really may mean little or nothing, except to the logic I concoct in my head)
