Storage Compartment leaks around covers?

I am trying to find a way to make storage compartments waterproof. I have a Pro Tracker 175TX 2oo6. This model did not have rain channels as the newer models do.

Any ideas or experience. Having to dry the storage carpet after a rain is a hassle.

Have the same question as well as the fact that the bottom of the storage doesn't drain into the bilge. I came out of a 21' TR21 and miss some of the finer things. I really like the tin boat though it's just I wonder how well the customer service is with the Tracker. I've called and emailed Tracker and got NO RESPONSE. Very poor. Please, does anyone have an idea for keeping the storage dry other than a tarp on the deck when fishing in the rain?
