Re: Storing a boat on rollers

Most current trailer manufactures use the roller setup. If there was a problem using rollers they wouldn?t sell them. They would be facing many lawsuits as well.

I don?t have rollers but I want them!

One day I will convert?

I would say it "could" under the right conditions.
Like the trailer wasn't a good fit to begin with, rollers were neglected, boat is neglected and the stringers get soft. But then I suppose the same could happen with a bunk trailer under the same conditions.

It depends on the boat.

Generally speaking, I would say no. However?...some manufacturers, i.e. Boston Whaler, recommend against the use of a roller trailer with their boats.

Re: Storing a boat on rollers

When I bought my 1988 Sea Ray the trailer was a roller trailer with 16 rollers. I have 16 noticeable depressions in the bottom of my hull. They don't affect how the boat performs as far as I cantell, but they are there.
