When I first bought my '78 Glastron, the fuel gauge half a@# worked. Yesterday I was out fooling around and, WOW, there is an easy access panel to the fuel tank. So, I pulled the sending unit out. Looks like the original. Pretty gunked up. I pulled the sending unit apart and cleaned up real good. With my test meter, I get a consistant change in resistance from "full" to "empty". Hooked the gauge back up and moved the float. With the float all the way down, my gauge shows 1/4 tank. All the way up shows just over 3/4 tank. So do I have a bad sending unit or is there something wrong with the gauge? Is there anyway to adjust the gauge?
