After along outing yesterday, pulled boat out this morning and put the drive in a fresh tank to rinse out the salt water. When I cranked it I noticed it wasn't bubbling up the water in the tank like it usually does, and when I peered over the transom to see what was up, I saw this strong jet of water shooting out of a random spot on the upper sterndrive. Sort of pluggable with my finger. Here is a short video I made showing the leak:
. And attached is a photo with the hole circled. I'm thinking I can probably patch this with JB Weld ExtremeHeat or SteelStik or something like that. Anyone had anything like this happen or have other suggestions? My guess is that the impeller is pulling water in and that a bunch of it is shooting out this hole rather than coming all the way in to the heat exchanger, etc., which would maybe explain why there wasn't a bunch of exhaust bubbling in my rinse tank.
